With Flutter we're exploring the dualities of light and dark, surface and depth, urban and rural. Flutter is the wings of a bird, swaying of trees and lights shining on a dirty puddle at night.

"For the first song, Sea-Change, Black Lake develops the theme of transformation in Arial’s song from Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” changing the context to their own iconography ending with poetry and noise guitar. The second track, “Energy EQUALS” is a spoken word rant/percussion cacophony of a pseudo science equation, "Energy EQUALS the bird of prey TIMES it’s prey MINUS the death of it’s prey.” Secret Trees references chaos theory and the sensitive dependence on initial conditions known as the butterfly effect. This song is exuberantly played with two electric guitars and sung in naïve unison, almost like a school chorus. Another track, The Dawning is a fast-driving and intense 43 second song showcasing Black Lake’s musical economy and Slink Moss’ velvety voice as the duo takes you on a quick trip from dawn to nightfall."
